I Paint on Shoes…

My Sneaker Diary

Sole Addiction Custom Canvas Kicks

I put the pictures on top for those who don’t wanna read. Lol. These are some shoes I’ve been working on for a few days now. Over the past 2 years I have had issues with the quality of shoes in Nairobi (Kenya.) 99% of the sneakers are fake, and the genuine ones are usually second hand, and I don’t like doing work on 2nd hand shoes, so I decided to find a cheaper alternative that I can work on, on a consistent basis, and put out as consistently, and voila. I am VERY PROUD of these and I will be putting out many more as the year progresses. I appreciate everyone who checks out my blog, even when I would neglect it for months. Not anymore. Thanx again everyone.

Sole Addict!

Custom Ballerinas

Hey all,
I posted these on my Sole Addiction Customs page on Facebook about a week ago. The reception was pretty good and I absolutely appreciated it. I will be putting out a series of these in different colours of course, and I will be selling them at Kshs. 2,500 per pair. If you have any queries, please email me at lilsony@gmail.com

Anyway, check them out and don’t forget to send me a comment and let me know what you all think! Enjoy 🙂

Custom Eckos

Good day to all!
Was supposed to put these out last week but due to technical issues my hands were tied. It took a long time to do these, with an excuse of course. I was in a rut of sorts, and had no clue what to do with certain parts. But they turned out well I think. 🙂
I want to do louder work. Not in a distasteful way, but I guess that’s where my head is at right now. I love colour and I will be doing more fluorescent/luminous stuff. I will be putting out another 3 pairs within the next couple of weeks. No half stepping this yr!

Enjoy 🙂

Custom High Heels.

I want to do other kinds of shoes. I enjoyed working on these heels, they were a plain black pair. I will be doing more and posting em. Ballerinas, chucks and canvas shoes included!

Old pics, new update

Updating a couple of pics on the blog. Check em out if u haven’t before. I have noticed a lot of people are asking about the Patriotic Kicks. I had some hiccups with getting a reliable Air Force Ones supplier but it worked out, and the kicks r genuine. I plan on putting out 5 pairs. There are now 4 slots left (made a deal with a client yesterday).

Each pair will have different colour arrangements. No pair will look like the other. I do not want to mass produce them. It’s a first come first serve basis. Yes there is a difference between interest/enquiries and actually following through.

I did a pair for a friend while he was in the UK. He told me people would literally stop him in the middle of the street and ask him who did his kicks… that is enough to know that I’m doing something right 🙂

So until later…

Holiday customsneakers!

Hey all, sorry to keep yall waiting. Im an artist alot more than I am a marketer. So do bear with me.

These past couple of months I wasn’t very inspired. Was telling a friend of mine I had painter’s block or something! Anyway, I figured to keep my fire burning I’d do some bright coloured sneakers. I’m happy about the reception received. The guys are loving the purple airs cos they’ve never seen anything like those.

I also appreciate the people who’ll be coming down from US/UK to have me do some sneaks for them. I will post those in January I’m sure.

I also attended the Battle of the Titans this past Saturday. I got the opportunity to meet some good people, one being Jack Omamo of Homeboyz Radio. I’ll be hosting him on My Block, tomorrow at 11am. Tune in and find out more about Sole Addiction Customs!

Anyway, enuf talk, here they are. As always, let me know what ur thoughts are.

Now in light of recent activity over the past two months, I believe it’s only right to express my creativity on other mediums, not just sneakers! Actually I have always wanted to work on t-shirts, but self-created obstacles prevented me from going forward. But when I saw Moses and his shirts, and I knew I had to do something to contribute to this subculture of ours! So do find below these two shirts I did. Experiments really, for the fun of it. I love stencil art! Will do more with it though. I love this new line of work. Not to mention the fact that it’s quicker, much faster, and easier to do!  I wanna match shirts up with shoes too. Let’s see how that goes. Very excited bout this new line of work. I’ll be working on jeans, jackets and caps too. I’ve always wanted to do this. Finally I can, and I am!!! There is nothing more amazing than turning a dream, no matter how small, into reality!

Till next time people…
